Blockpritings is an ancient decorative method typical of Asia.
References of woodblock printing appear throughout India around the 12th century where the fabrics thus decorated were considered precious and were used especially by the nobility.
This technique involves the manual impression of the color on the fabric with the use of wooden matrices. The wood used is beech, hard and smooth, perfect for this purpose and for the colors we use.<\/p>

The technique explained by Chiara:<\/h3>

My father took care of the creation of the stamps, who with his passion for woodworking transformed my drawings into real matrices for the molds.<\/p>

In this way we have created the three illustrations that can be chosen on the swaddles, Raffa, Berta and Ippo.
They are naive drawings that recall childhood and that, printed with natural oil colors, are imprinted on the fabric in an irregular way, as if they were colored by children with wax crayons. This is why each piece is one of a kind.<\/p>

Personalization is the last step and it too is made with molds, letter by letter in Carbon Black, to form the name of the child.
Once the color has dried (about 3 days), we wash the products in the washing machine and, after drying, we iron them carefully by adding a drop of lavender essential oil to the water as a last cuddle and we pack them, ready for shipping.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For our prints we use natural colors produced in Puglia by an artisan, Marco Fantuzzi (visit his Facebook page<\/a><\/em>) respecting the environment and ethical work.
The colors are composed of natural pigments on a linseed oil base which makes them very similar in consistency and processing to oil colors, due to their density they are processed and spread on the molds with rollers.<\/p>

Being of natural origin, each color has different drying times which is why production times are long, precisely because they respect the times of nature.
Despite their origin they are very resistant to washing compared to other natural dyes and withstand washing up to 90C \u00b0.
